There’s a distinct Mersea and Manningtree flavour to April’s Acoustic Bull event organised by Jeanette Lynnes.
This month Jeanette has once again played a blinder with a line-up featuring…
The Flat Mountain Family, a four piece acoustic band that hail not from the US but from Colchester, Essex and West Mersea! The band consists of Dub Sherwood on banjo, Dan West on double bass, Andy Sherwood on vocals and mandolin and Dan Peachey on guitar – they play everything from their own original stuff as well as classic bluegrass to modern hits with a bluegrass twist and a punk attitude.
Benjamin Brown, the gifted and enigmatic local singer-songwriter who you’ll recognise as the lead singer of Dingus Khan.
The Sisters Of Mersea, two friends from Ireland and New Zealand now based in Colchester. You may have caught their act at Cosmic Puffin last year. They play a fun mix of Irish, Scottish and Folk traditional music with a modern feel. Using violin, Irish flute, tin whistle, ukulele and guitar, The Sisters Of Mersea will most definitely get your toes tapping. Bonus points will be dished out to those of you who know that the act includes Show Pony from the mighty New Town Kings.
The night takes place in The Soundhouse at The Bull at 9pm on Thursday 11th April. Attend and enjoy a candle-lit evening with some spectacular entertainment (and delicious nibbles). Admission is free.
