Colchester Youth Council are hosting an under 18’s  Silent Disco at Colchester Arts Centre on Thursday 28th October.

According to, Silent Disco began in the summer of 2002 when two friends organised a secret party on the campsite of the Dutch theatre festival Parade. Apart from the people that joined them, nobody knew. They did not disturb anybody around them as the party people were wearing wireless headphones. Silent Disco was born.

Here’s your chance to experience it for yourself at the Arts Centre.

On the night, the headphones will provide two channels: One playing Dance/R&B and the other playing Indie/Rock. There’ll also be freebies given away during the night

Colchester Youth Council have organised this event to raise awareness of the risks of Chlamydia and there’ll be free chlamydia testing (with even more freebies) available on the night.

Tickets are priced at £5 with all monies raised going to the NHS National Chlamydia Screening Programme.

The Silent Disco runs from 7pm – 11pm. Tickets are available to 14-17 year olds and are available from Colchester Arts Centre
