1940’s Steamy Vintage Encounter

The 1940s steam event is back with a bang for 2023 at the East Anglian Railway Museum.
Come and step back in time with us and experience what life would of been like during the 1940s, where Le Keux will be offering a salon service for hair and makeup appointments. Book your time slot in advance by emailing anna@lekeuxevents.co.uk
Your ticket admission will include unlimited steam train rides in period coaches and wagons that would have seen extensive service during the 40s. Not only will you get to experience period train travel, you’ll also have access to unlimited rides on a vintage double decker bus, which is also included in your admission. The approx. 30 minute bus journey will take you in a trip to Bures railway station and back.
Feeling energetic? The pump trolley will be in operation for you to try, and there’s a option where you can take the controls of the War Department diesel shunter and take it for a drive on the demonstration line.
The Suffolk Regiment will be providing a range of skills, drills, displays and demonstrations throughout the day, as well as some photo opportunities! There will also be a exhibition of military and civilian vehicles.
Feeling Hungry? Platform Two Cafe (run by Stour Valley Catering) will be serving up 1940s style cream teas as well as other hot and cold food and drinks. The museums own minature vintage style pub ‘The Viaduct’ will be open from 11:00 serving a draft local beer, as well as a range of bottled beers, ciders wines and soft drinks.
