DESCRIPTION:A stalwart of the Colchester jazz scene\, followers of Jazz Audience Colchester will be well aware that drummer Elmer van der Hoek has been organising gigs and jams at various venues in the city for more than 15 years\, the first 10 years at the Bull and subsequently at Patch\, The Minories\, the Foresters Arms\, and Queen Street Brewhouse. \n​Elmer’s events always feature top players of local and regional jazz talent and occasionally London-based musicians\, so now he is bringing some of them to Wivenhoe! \nFor this special concert\, he has assembled a stellar line-up to perform an exciting mix of swing\, Latin\, straightahead jazz\, and jazz funk\, by notable artists such as Miles Davis\, Herbie Hancock\, Roy Hargrove\, Wayne Shorter\, Jeff Lorber\, Antônio Carlos Jobim\, Mongo Santmaria\, and many more! \nCarl Sterling (Saxophones) Ian Buzer (Trumpet) Alex Hearn (Guitar)\, Tony Gooderham (Keys) Simon Wood (Double Bass) Elmer van der Hoek (Drums).
