DESCRIPTION:Tickets £16 / £15 concs\nDoors 7pm\, show 7.30pm\nThis show is for a seated audience\n\n“Thrive exudes such all-round positive energy which is difficult to escape from\, let alone want to” writes Robert Fischer from Jazzthetik Magazin. \n\nKnown for her vibrant contemporary jazz\, weaving together elements of poetry and storytelling\, Ambuehl’s latest album Thrive (2025) won “Jazz Recording of The Year” at the 2025 Presto Music Awards. \n\nWith fluid\, expressive piano playing and emotive vocals\, her sound is lyrical and rich in detail\, drawing inspiration from poetry\, urban life and the natural world.\nThe debut album Glitterwoods (Traumton\, Berlin)\, was named ‘Album of the Year’ by UK Vibe and she has since performed with different artists internationally\, including a musical residency in Senegal funded by Arts Council England and appearing as the improvising soloist with Jazzchor Freiburg at the Eurovision Choir contest in Riga\, Latvia.\nThe music of the London-based\, Swiss-born pianist\, singer and composer receives widespread acclaim from the international jazz press. \n\nFabienne Ambuehl leads a quartet featuring some of the UK’s most in-demand jazz musicians. The quartet’s performances are engaging and energetic. The band will present the music from Thrive as well as some brand-new material from their upcoming album to be released later in the year. \n\nTogether with her virtuoso quartet\, she creates a concert experience that is as sensitive as it is powerful.
