Father’s Day Trains and Steampunk Shenanigans

Come along this Father’s Day for Steam Train Rides, where one of our full sized steam engines will be operating, hauling the vintage Freight Train. Also in operation will be the Miniature Railway. You can also have a go if you wish (or get Dad to have a go) on our Pump Trolley.

Bring along Dad, Grandad and all the family for this fun filled day. As an extra addon for this event you can Drive a Diesel for £15 – prebooking for this is essential as numbers are limited.

….We cordially invite you to join us at the East Anglian Railway Museum for this, our Steampunk Fair, hosted in conjunction with the illustrious League of Essextraordinary Gentlemen.

Enter the steampunk world of neo-victorian science fantasy inspired by the creativity of Jules Verne and H.G. Wells. A retrofuturistic concoction of wood and brass, steam and clockwork.

Various events and attractions will be taking place throughout the day, including Tea Duelling, Teapot Racing, talks, exhibitions of steampunk creativity and a performance by steampunk songsmith Chasing the Dark.

Vintage steam trains will be running from 11 am in this marvellous industrial setting amongst a plethora of historic wagons, coaches, signal boxes and Victorian architecture.

A STEAMPUNK MARKET selling gadgets, gizmos and general paraphernalia and our very own miniature pub the Viaduct Tavern, will be open serving bottled ales, wine, usual ciders and soft drinks.
