Wild Arts return to the heated barn at Layer Marney Tower with their 2024 edition of Handel’s iconic masterpiece. The specialist players of the Wild Arts Ensemble, playing on period instruments, join star singers of the summer opera tour for an innovative version that will bring the music and story to life, with soloists singing from memory. Wild Arts’ Artistic Director Orlando Jopling directs from the keyboard.

Doors will open at 3pm, and the performance will begin at 4.

Because of the winter weather, we can only park on the hard gravel. There is only room for 60 cars, so we would be very grateful if you could please car-share if at all possible. We are looking into alternative forms of transport – a minibus from Colchester and Witham maybe, and we will be in touch with ticket-holders. Meanwhile, there is a question about where you will be driving from when you buy your ticket. We hugely appreciate your help in this matter – we don’t want any cars bogged down in the meadow!
