SUMMARY:Sheep! Μια ιστορία για το πού ανήκουμε
DESCRIPTION:A play about flocks and belonging\, told by a sheep who doesn’t know how to belong after she was sexually assaulted. To find her way back into the herd\, she weaves an off-beat comedic tale of sheep who are born\, loved\, and eaten – asking for it\, having such cute lambs – and go to space in search of the lost connection. \nSheep! is a dark and hilarious exploration of the hard feelings one goes through after a sexual assault\, told through the extended metaphor of sheep. A powerful\, weird and wonderful monologue that invites you into joy and resilience\, into the flock of soft\, fluffy and vulnerable sheep. \nWritten and performed by Jenni Nikinmaa\, a Finn living on a remote Irish island whose artistic works make hard-hitting points so gently it’s like being hugged by a sheep. Directed by Sarah O’Toole\, sound design Jack Cawley\, lighting design Órla Kelly-Smith. Dramaturgs Michael West & Hugh Farrell. Production funded by Galway Theatre Festival & Galway County Council. \nIf you are nervous about attending because of the theme or audience participation\, you can get to know the show beforehand via our audience guide. The guide includes details of the show and supports those who want to see the show but are worried if they can. It’s not a requirement to read to come and see Sheep! it’s just a measure of care while working on a sensitive topic! \nColchester Fringe Festival.
