DESCRIPTION:PLEASE NOTE: YOU ARE BOOKING A TWO-PART COURSE: Session 1: ONLINE – Glaze Theory Session. Tuesday 1st December 2026\, 19:00 – 21.00. Venue: Google Meet – An email will be sent to you on the day with link to join Session 2: PRACTICAL – Glaze Session. Sunday 6th December 2026\, 15.00 – 17.00. Venue: Colchester Makerspace  \nGlazing is a crucial step in ceramics\, but it often gets overlooked or rushed. It can make or break your ceramic creations. It adds beauty\, durability\, and personality to your pieces.  \nIn this class\, with the help of experienced ceramicist Peter Jones\, you will learn how to make your own glazes and apply them to fired clay. You will understand the difference between glossy\, satin and dry glazes\, onglaze and underglaze and how to choose and apply them from dipping and pouring to spraying. You will also learn how to avoid common glaze problems and start imagining stunning designs. \nSamples provided to work on. Expect to experiment and make tests that you can take home once they have been fired.  \nAbout the Artist leading the session: Led by Peter Jones\, a ceramic artist who has run his own studio for over 26 years. He has exhibited widely and is currently an associate artist for the British ceramics biennial\, and consults and assist on many technical aspects of ceramics for artists and organisations.
