DESCRIPTION:We are back again\, and we are nearing the end of 2025. So it’s time for a new era of Colchester Collision! This local group has gotten from strength to strength\, with the help of this fantastic community. With every event\, we are making minor tweeks and fine tuning everything\, it’s incredible to see\, as it was mainly a group of three of us just wanting to play Fighting Games offline! \nWith this in mind\, the top 4 players for each main game over the course of September\, October\, November and December\, will battle it out in a very special event to commemorate the end of the season! More info soon… \nWe will be running our three main games again\, Street Fighter 6\, Tekken 8 and Guilty Gear: Strive\, all with streams (after we were able to run the streams well last month). In addition there are casual setups throughout the day to play those games\, plus a potential surprise community tournament! More on that soon! \nPlease read on for everything you need to know about Colchester Collision #3! \nOur event in Colchester\, Essex aims to provide a fun setting for fighting games within the local community. This is all done completely grassroots and with help from some members of the community! Please look after any equipment\, show respect and care to everybody in attendance\, and especially the venue for helping us put this on. Failure to do will result in ejection from the venue and will be banned from any future events! \nThe venue is a board gaming cafe\, named Dice & a Slice\, located in Colchester town. It’s a great little venue that has food and drink\, and in general a nice little hub for the gaming (as a whole) community. Please\, check out their website for more information! It is near to one of Colchester’s train station\, the bus station\, and then it is a small walk from the other Colchester station. DESCRIPTION:“J Steps is an example of what we can do to ensure the future of the music we love.” – Maxine Gordon\, wife of the late\, great saxophonist Dexter Gordon \nContinuing our remit to showcase emerging young talent\, award-winning J Steps is a groundbreaking jazz ensemble for female and non-binary jazz musicians under the age of 18. \nFounded and directed by saxophonist Hannah Horton\, J Steps nurtures the talent of young improvising musicians\, its main aim being to balance the historic lack of representation of women in jazz. \nHannah received the 2023 Parliamentary Jazz Award for Jazz Education of the Year in recognition of her accomplishments. \nThis talented young group performs a mix of jazz standards such as Tenor Madness\, Cantaloupe Island\, and Sugar\, plus originals and other captivating music. \nJ Steps have performed at the prestigious EFG London Jazz Festival\, plus venues such as Saffron Hall\, Toulouse Lautrec\, and Jazz Cafe POSK.  \nRarely do you get the opportunity to experience a teenage ensemble as authentic\, musical\, and tight as this!
