SUMMARY:East of England Disabled Creatives Meet-Up
DESCRIPTION:The East of England Disabled Creatives Meet-Up is a free space for deaf\, disabled and/or neurodivergent creatives to meet\, share and create! \nAs artists\, don’t ask for permission. Take up space. For yourself and your work. We aim to provide that space for you! \nThis is a monthly in-person meet-up at the Mercury Theatre in collaboration with Graeae Theatre Company. \nWe welcome artists at any experience level\, the aim is to establish a relaxed space for people to turn up for however long they wish within the meet-up session time. The meet-up is from 10am-1pm\, but you are welcome to drop-in anytime. It will be an opportunity to network\, meet new artists in your area and develop your practice. \nWe will be meeting in the upstairs bar at the Mercury Theatre\, if you do not know where this is\, please ask a member of our Box Office or Front of House staff and they will guide you. The Mercury’s Graeae Associate\, Christian Markham\, will always be in attendance to facilitate and/or answer any questions you might have about the Mercury\, Graeae\, or wider disabled arts initiatives.

Chang (For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy\, The Ministry of Lesbian Affairs\, The Swell\, A Playlist for the Revolution\, Sound of the Underground\, My Neighbour Totoro) for a hands-on Masterclass where you will explore various sound design techniques and build your own sound design. \nWe’ll unpack how to approach a script\, develop a show’s sonic identity\, and make creative choices that support rhythm\, mood\, and dramaturgy. The session will also delve into designing for different spaces and scales\, the evolving relationship between sound and narrative\, and how sound interacts with other design elements to shape the overall world of a production. \nThis masterclass is ideal for early-career theatre-makers and sound designers keen to explore a sound design process in a condensed\, practical way. There will be time at the end for a Q&A with Nicola.

FEELGOOD‘A Shot of Rhythm & Blues’ Tour \nTwo of the finest UK Rhythm ‘n’ Blues bands on one incredible bill. \nNine Below Zero released their classic debut LP ‘Live at the Marquee’ in 1980\, the band kept the momentum going with ‘Don’t Point Your Finger’ in 1981 before releasing their third and final LP on A&M Records\, ‘Third Degree’ (1982). \nNine Below Zero toured with The Who and The Kinks around the time of this LP and also appeared on ‘The Old Grey Whistle Test’\, and ‘The South Bank Show’. \nDr. Feelgood formed on Canvey Island in Essex in the early 1970’s and have enjoyed a string of hit singles in many countries including ‘Milk & Alcohol’\, ‘Down at the Doctors’\, ‘Roxette’\, ‘She’s a Wind Up’ and ‘See You Later Alligator’. \nThe current line-up of Dr. Feelgood is led by their drummer Kevin Morris\, and features Gordon Russell on lead guitar\, Phil Mitchell on bass and charismatic vocalist\, Robert Kane. \nAn AGMP Concerts presentation.
