DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Peter F Hamilton to the store to talk about the first novel in his Arkship Trilogy. Peter has been a key figure in British Science Fiction for more than thirty years. Thanks to Adam Whitehead for agreeing to interview Peter for the event. Adam has been writing The Werzone blog for more than ten years\, in which he reviews all things Sci-fi and Fantasy. \nIn Peter’s new novel\, a colony ship has been travelling through space for 500 years in search of a fresh planet to settle. A rebellion early in the voyage has left the colonists short of resources\, so that everything\, including people\, must be Cycled once they are no longer useful. When Hazel’s brother suffers a paralyzing accident she refuses to allow him to be Cycled. She finds a hidden group\, who refuse to adhere to the ships rules\, called the Cheaters. What they tell her gives the lie to all she has been taught growing up and she joins a thrilling race to save the ship from destruction.  \nTickets must be purchased online. The doors will open at 6.45pm fo a 7pm start.
