SUMMARY:Geoff Norcott: Basic Bloke 2 - There's No Bloke Without Fire
DESCRIPTION:Goes on sale Friday 7th March at 10.30am. \nTickets £19.50Doors open 7.30pm\, show starts 8pm. \nNew national tour 2025-2026 for star of Have I Got News For You\, Is University Really Worth It?\, The Last Leg\, Would I Lie to You?\, Live At The Apollo\, 8 Out of 10 Cats\, Backstage With Katherine Ryan\, The Mash Report\, The News Quiz\, Geoff Norcott’s Working Men’s Club and many more! \n‘He has become one of our most refreshingly funny comedians of any stripe.’ ★★★★ Dominic Maxwell\, The Times \nBasic Bloke 2 – There’s No Bloke Without Fire is the latest tour from comedian\, author\, podcaster and radio host Geoff Norcott and Geoff’s first under a Labour government\, so he’s got plenty to get off his chest! Not least because there’s nothing quite so British as being promised a brave new dawn then realising it’s as crap as the last one. \nGeoff will savour getting his teeth into the new ‘big beasts’ of British politics\, with scathing words for Starmer and Rachel Reeves (while surprisingly positive about the idea of Angela Rayner as PM). \nCulturally\, Geoff is conscious that – as the global headwinds shift right – he might end up at odds with people who used to be on ‘his side’. He’s dismayed to find that some of the cultural right weren’t really against censorship and cancellation\, they just wanted to be the ones doing it. \nWhat’s more\, Geoff can’t get his head around people who shared his suspicion of the EU’s power openly salivating over the idea of Britain becoming Trump’s 51st State. \n‘The Laughs roll in like waves.’ ★★★★ Bruce Dessau\, Evening Standard \nUnlike most sequels\, Basic Bloke 2 will move beyond some of the themes of the original (while fully aware that a comedian doing a ‘sequel’ at all is a bit ridiculous). \nHe’s been moving in male mental health circles for a while how\, but while they’re all saying blokes should ‘check in’ on each other\, he’s wondering what happens if you do ‘check in’ all the time but they mainly want to send you politically incorrect memes. \nGeoff’s also taking advantage of the rediscovered tolerance towards jokes being jokes to tell you what he really thinks. How much he judges people. Bad parents\, people who eat too much\, anyone who wears a dressing gown beyond 9am…it’s fair to say the gloves are off. \n‘Geoff Norcott is in his element on the stand-up stage.’ Daily Mail \n‘He’s a class act with a mature\, sharp take on modern politics.’ Sunday Times \nGeoff Norcott has numerous TV credits to his name\, including Live at the Apollo\, Mock The Week (BBC Two)\, Have I Got News For You\, House of Games\, Question Time\, Pointless Celebrities\, Would I Lie To You? Celebrity Mastermind (BBC One)\, Backstage With Katherine Ryan (Amazon)\, The Complaints Department (Comedy Central)\, A League of Their Own\, Comedians Giving Lectures\, Late Night Mash (Dave)\, The Last Leg (Channel 4). Geoff also presented his own documentaries on BBC Two\, How The Middle Classes Ruined Britain and Is University Really Worth It?
