SUMMARY:Tim Noble & Sue Webster: Love and Hate at Firstsite
DESCRIPTION:Tim Noble & Sue Webster’s Love and Hate at Firstsite brings a series of illuminated sculptures by the internationally recognised British artists to spaces throughout the Colchester gallery.\n\nThe exhibition draws on Noble and Webster’s distinctive use of light\, signage and popular culture. Their illuminated works reference everything from British seaside attractions to Las Vegas and Times Square\, using flashing and sequencing lights to explore opposing ideas including love and hate\, optimism and nihilism.\n\nThe exhibition can be found throughout the Firstsite building and runs until Sunday 27 September 2026.\n\nAdmission is free and no booking is required.\n\nFirstsite is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 5pm\, Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 10pm\, and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. It is closed on Mondays.\n\nPlease note that the exhibition includes flashing lights and contrasting colours.

DESCRIPTION:🌿 PLEIN AIR EXHIBITION 🌿 \nColchester\, observed in the open air.Nature\, landscape and the environment that surrounds us. \nColchester Art Society is pleased to present the Plein Air Exhibition\, a curated showcase of works created in response to Colchester and its surrounding areas. Featuring paintings\, drawings and works in other media\, the exhibition explores place through direct observation\, light and atmosphere. \nFrom expansive rural views to quieter urban moments\, the exhibition brings together a range of perspectives rooted in lived experience and the practice of working outdoors. \nOrganised by myself and proudly sponsored by Colchester Art Society\, this exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to engage with contemporary plein air practice and the diverse ways artists respond to their environment. \n🎨 Exhibiting artists: Members of Colchester Art Society📍 Inspired by Colchester & surrounding areas🖼️ Paintings\, drawings and mixed media \nVisitors are warmly invited to attend the Meet the Artists event on 15th January\, 12–3 pm\, and to enjoy the exhibition throughout its run. 🎨✨
