SUMMARY:Gong + HENGE: Sounds of the Cosmos Tour
DESCRIPTION:Tickets £28.50.Doors open 6.30pm\, starts 7pm.This gig is for a standing audience. \nAt last – the double header we’ve been dreaming of! \nHENGE and GONG will be performing as joint headliners on the Sounds of the Cosmos Tour\, sharing equal billing across all dates. To keep things exciting\, the order of performance will alternate from show to show. As such\, we won’t be revealing in advance who will be opening or closing on any given night. Please arrive in time for the advertised start\, and plan to stay until the end to enjoy the full experience! \nHENGEAttention Humans! This is HENGE. We are not from this world. We bring you music from distant planets. We offer this gift for the edification of humankind… so that eventually your species may put an end to war and set up new homes in space. Extra-terrestrial joymongers – HENGE – have been delighting audiences in the UK and Europe since they landed on Planet Earth ten years ago. Their scintillating live performances earned them ‘Best Live Act’ at the Independent Festival Awards and they have since cemented their reputation with four acclaimed albums\, numerous tours and regular main-stage festival appearances. Their music escapes definition\, but occupies a space between rave and prog rock that nobody knew existed. It is energetic\, subversive and invigoratingly playful\, jovially going ‘where no one has gone before’. Ultimately\, HENGE are spreading a message of hope which leaves audiences feeling amused and uplifted in equal measures. \nGONGThe ever metamorphosing entity that is Gong launches\, as ever\, into unknown – and unknowing – territory with a new album and tour\, destined to be talked about\, discussed\, and argued over\, up and down the land. From its beginnings in a French commune in 1967\, through the Virgin Records years\, mismanagement\, court cases\, break-ups and rejoinings\, deaths and rebirths – there has always been a continuous thread of beautiful\, dangerous and extraordinary music. The current holders of the flame have come together over the last seven years; sinuous bass player Dave Sturt joined just as the album 2032 was shown to the world; Ian ‘Eastwinds’ East was the next to blow in through the portal; Fabio Golfetti brought his guitars from Brazil (after working with Daevid for many years); Kavus Torabi appeared to Daevid in a vision; Cheb Nettles just sort of turned up. Gong’s musically diverse world includes shades of psychedelia\, space rock\, jazz\, avant-garde\, krautrock and surreal soundscapes.

SUMMARY:Gaz Brookfield: Waiting For Wisdom 2025 Tour
DESCRIPTION:Waiting For Wisdom 2025 tour \nFollowing the release of his tenth studio album\, Waiting ForWisdom\, Gaz Brookfield takes to the road once more. \nFolk/Punk festival favourite\, Brookfield has been at this for a while now. Since winning Acoustic Magazine Singer/Songwriter of the year way back in 2010 he has continued to tirelessly tour the length and breadth of the country\, building a strong and loyal following where he goes. \nHis last album\, Morning Walking Club\, saw Gaz achieve his first top 40 record\, and it even got number 1 in the UK Official Folk Charts. Not a bad result for this fiercely independent musician\, with no record label\, no manager\, and no agent – just a guitar\, a van\, and a steadfastly belligerent refusal to give in.

SUMMARY:Nicolas Meier World Group: "Jazz at the intersection of gypsy\, flamenco\, and the Middle East."
DESCRIPTION:“It’s jazz at the intersection of gypsy\, flamenco\, rock and the Middle East\, and it works really well.” – Jazz Views \n“Meier’s scintillating playing on assorted fretted and fretless guitars is sometimes reminiscent of Metheny or McLaughlin\, but with a highly melodic\, pan-Mediterranean eclecticism of his own . . . ” – The Scotsman \n“. . . the passion he has for his unique meld of Turkish\, Balkan and jazz modes make his gigs a vibrant experience.” – Jazzwise \nDrawing from a love of Turkish\, Eastern\, and Middle Eastern music\, flamenco\, tango\, and more — all mixed with jazz — Nicolas’ versatility and musical fluency extend far beyond these influences. His considerable talents drew the attention of rock guitar legend Jeff Beck\, who made him a mainstay in his group and took him on two world tours. \nHaving made a lasting impression on the legendary Bill Bruford\, the aforementioned Jeff Beck\, and Steve Vai\, Nicolas is unquestionably one of today’s most well-rounded\, ambitious and masterful talents on guitar. \nNicolas Meier (Guitars) Alex Hutton (Keyboard) Tom Mason (Bass) Demi García Sabat (Percussion)

SUMMARY:The Primitives
DESCRIPTION:Tickets £21.50.Doors open 7.30pm\, starts 8pm.This gig is for a standing audience. \nThe Primitives emerged from the UK independent music scene of the mid-1980s with a sound that distilled the shimmering guitar chime of The Byrds\, the buzzsaw style of The Ramones and 60’s girl group melodies into two-and-a-half-minute pop gems. \nAfter topping the indie singles chart several times\, their widely acclaimed first album\, Lovely\, made them one of the UK’s most revered alternative rock acts\, while the international success of the single “Crash” saw them cross over to a mass audience. Further chart success followed\, along with two more studio albums\, Pure and Galore\, plus extensive tours of Europe and the US\, before the band called it a day in 1992. \nIn 2008\, Mojo Magazine named The Primitives’ second single “Really Stupid” one of the top 40 greatest UK indie singles of all time. \nThe band were reunited in 2009 by the untimely passing of their original bass player Steve Dullaghan\, reforming to play a show in his memory later that year in their hometown Coventry; their first time on stage together for 17 years. Bolstered by the success of this and of a secret show in London\, they went on to tour the UK in April 2010\, followed by shows in the US and Europe. \nIn 2011 The Primitives released the Never Kill A Secret EP through Fortuna Pop! The record featured two brand new songs and two covers of female fronted pop obscurities\, the latter two being a taster for the covers album Echoes and Rhymes\, released on Elefant records in 2012. \nAn album of new original Primitives songs entitled Spin-O-Rama was released in 2014 and was showered with lavish praise; the general opinion being that it sounded like an alternative follow-up to their classic 1988 debut album Lovely. \nIn 2025 Elefant Records put out the double vinyl collection Let’s Go Round Again – Second Wave Singles & Rarities 2011 – 2025\, featuring new material along with all of the A sides\, B sides and other miscellaneous tracks that the band have released over the past 14 years. \nSince reforming The Primitives have toured the UK multiple times\, performed all around Europe and paid several visits to the US and Japan. \nThe current line-up of the band includes original members Tracy Tracy (vocals)\, Paul Court (guitar/vocals) and Tig Williams (drums). \nhttps://linktr.ee/theprimitives
