Ghosts Of Men Vid Launch: Hot Tramp, Violent Playground, Ransoms

Sat, March 30, 2019 @ 8:00 pm - 2:00 am

Release Party for HANG FIRE video/single.
Usual shenanigans plus live screening. Ooo-er.

Nicely heavy, dancey, two piece alt-rock from Essex.

Sometimes described as a pair of naredowells with the combined mental age of 7, sometimes hailed as geniuses of the genre, it’s fair to say these two throw themselves into every performance with passion, humour, style and sheer power leaving a lasting impression wherever they go.

The last 4 years have seen Ghosts Of Men take to over 100 festival stages and countless UK venues, sign a record deal, release 3 EP’s and an Album as well as 4 cutting edge music videos, constantly building an army of fans Europe-wide along the way.

“Like a two piece Queens of the Stone Age if Queens of the Stone Age were entirely composed of Morecambe and Wise” – Stuart Turner BBC Radio

“Firstly, I’d like to say that Ghost Of Men are amazing. People always said that my old band Carter USM made a big noise for two people, we cheated though, we had backing tapes. Clegg and Adam take it to a whole new level. Awesomeness drips from every note.” – Les Carter

“Ghosts of Men’s record is a mix of gloriously filthy blues and Desert rock. Their live show is an explosion of anarchy with a devilish wink. These chaps are playing some kind of impish prank on the world. But don’t worry, they want you to be in on it too. This is my favourite festival band for good reason.” – Stuart Blakeledge 103.9 VoiceFm

“I love having Ghosts Of Men’ on the show. Powerhouse performers with such a feel for the brilliant music they play and a growing army of fans.” – Tony Fisher, Head of Music, BBC Essex.

“It shouldn’t be physically possible for a duo with a combined mental age of 7 to make this much noise and still be catchy, melodic and funny while maintaining an ever so slightly mental edge. I loves em!” – Gail Something-Else – Festival Organiser/Venue Owner.

Hot Tramp will invade your pulse!
Use your heart as a metronome!
Make your foot stomp!
Your head nod!Your hands clap!
It is dirty filthy music for dirty filthy people who want to get it on!

Ipswich’s finest and down right dirtiest slingers of filthy beats and scorching blues licks are back at CODA with their brothers once again. And for that we are eternally grateful.

Recently reunited for a friends birthday after a mighty 15 year split, Violent Playground were formed in 1999, during the heady days of the Ipswich punk scene, with Val at the helm of the Steamboat Tavern. A reputation for stage fights, smashing guitars & all round destruction, the band certainly lived up to the name! in the intervening years-all band members have been/are still involved in various other endeavours including, but not limited to: Bring Back Her Head, My Ears My Ears, Strike the Sun, The International Debt, Rampton Disco, The Failure Men, These Are End Times, Zeeb?, Nemo

We saw them play at a recent gig and were left stunned and slack jawed. RAW. CHAOTIC. ENERGETIC.

Ransoms are a 4 piece British Alternative Rock band hailing from Colchester, Essex. Delivering sobering melodies about love, loss and all the shit in between, Ransoms blend Brit Rock felt guitar tones with solid rhythms and a voice you want to believe.

“The next Blur” – Ollie Winiberg, BBC Introducing Radio Show

“The sound that Ransoms created with their debut single prove that they are one of the strongest powerhouses of talents to broach the Alt Rock scene in 2018” – Amelia Vandergast, A&R Factory

I think you’ll all agree, a pretty heady line-up there….
