DESCRIPTION:The Rezillos are a punk/new wave band formed in Edinburgh\, Scotland\, in 1976. Their independent debut single\, ‘I Can’t Stand My Baby’ shot them to underground fame initially via airings on the radio show of BBC Radio 1’s John Peel. \nTheir follow up classic singles ‘My Baby Does Good Sculptures’\, ‘Top of the Pops’ and ‘Destination Venus’ signalled critically acclaimed milestones for the band. \nThe Rezillos recorded their landmark album ‘Can’t Stand the Rezillos’ in New York’s fabled Power Station studio\, immersed themselves in the local music scene and dropped in during downtime to play a gig at CBGB’s\, the hub of Punk Rock music. DESCRIPTION:3 – 4.15pm approximately  \nNew for 2027\, our team have created a Live Captioned Talk + Tour of Colchester Castle\, aimed at Deaf\, deafened and hard of hearing audiences. \nAccompanied by live captions and images\, our guide will first talk through the Castle’s 2\,000-year history! After a Q&A\, you will then be taken down into the Roman Vaults\, the foundations of the Temple of Claudius\, and up the Great Stairs. As our Wi-Fi does not extend underground\, we have signs and a pre-recorded\, captioned video that offer more fascinating insights. The tour ends on the Castle’s first floor galleries\, where you can explore our array of fascinating displays. \nThe Talk + Tour will start promptly at 3pm. We therefore ask visitors to take their seats 5 minutes beforehand. We would also recommend arriving earlier and exploring Colchester Castle before the event starts\, as you may not have enough time afterwards. \nThe Talk + Tour is suitable for ages 8+\, but primarily aimed at adults.  \nPlease note the tour includes climbing uneven stairs with no lift access\, crouching to pass through low archways\, and some uneven flooring underfoot. For anyone who would find this inaccessible\, a captioned\, virtual guided tour is available. It costs £1.50 to hire\, and you can request it at reception. We will provide a tablet with the tour preloaded\, along with headphones for your convenience. \nFor useful information\, such as how to find us and what facilities Colchester Castle has\, we recommend reading our Access information. \nLive-captions for this event are provided by our friends at Stagetext. DESCRIPTION:Join us on the first Sunday of every month from 3 PM to 5 PM for a quieter experience at Colchester Castle. \nThese sessions are designed for anyone who would benefit from a calmer environment\, including visitors with autism or sensory sensitivities. During this time\, we reduce sensory stimulation by turning off sounds and visual displays\, and a dedicated sensory space is available away from the main galleries. \nEar defenders\, visual guides\, and twiddlemuffs are available free of charge at the museum’s reception. \nFor more information about accessibility and our sensory-friendly resources\, visit our Access page. \nThis event is included as part of Castle admission. DESCRIPTION:Martin Stephenson & The Daintees hail from the North East of England. Their debut single ‘Roll On Summertime’ was released in 1982 on Kitchenware Records (home of Prefab Sprout\, The Kane Gang\, Hurrah!). \n‘Boat To Bolivia’ was the debut album by Martin Stephenson & The Daintees. After appearances on Channel 4’s ‘The Tube’ and BBC2’s ‘Whistle Test’ the album went on to become one of the essential releases of 1986. \nIn 1988\, the second Martin Stephenson & The Daintees album ‘Gladsome\, Humour & Blue’ was released which featured the singles ‘There Comes A Time’ & ‘Wholly Humble Heart’. \nDon’t miss Martin Stephenson & The Daintees perform music from the ‘Gladsome\, Humour & Blue’ LP along with other classics and fan favourites. \nAn AGMP Concerts presentation.
