Named one of 2023’s Best Albums by At The Barrier\, Music News Monthly\, and BluesBlues\, it chronicles Gould’s journey through mental illness\, with all proceeds donated to the mental health charity CALM. \n“Beautiful music & masterful musicianship” – Americana UK \nWith five UK headline tours\, standout appearances at The Long Road\, YNot\, Camper Calling\, and Rock n Ribs Festivals\, alongside BBC Radio support\, Craig’s live sound showcases an ability to connect with audiences through heartfelt songs. His evolving sound\, shaped alongside his band The Noble Thieves\, blends the soul of americana with the grit of blues\, the spirit of country\, and the storytelling of folk. \nIntimate & mellifluous country sounds” – RnR Magazine \nCraig’s momentum continues to grow with the release of an ambitious live EP in 2025\, available in both audio and visual formats. His highly anticipated second studio album\, Songs of Love and War\, is due in late 2026. \nEndorsed by Tanglewood Guitars\, supported by the AMA-UK as a showcase artist\, featured on the Folk on Foot Folk Albums Chart Show\, and award-nominated by the BCMA\, Gould’s blossoming reputation as both writer and performer shows no signs of slowing down. \n“Make a note of the name” – Folking.com \nMotel Sundown \nWith a sound reminiscent of soft-rock bands of the 60s & 70s\, Motel Sundown draw listeners with their blend of heartfelt lyrics over luscious three part harmonies. \nThe three friends began writing together in 2018 after discovering mutual influences\, releasing their debut album If You Were Listening in 2022 following a trio of singles. Labelled “a band to watch in 2024 and beyond” (Fatea) the Liverpool based band have since supported The Hanging Stars\, Ashley Campbell\, The Chapin Sisters and more recently\, US Grammy nominated artist Courtney Marie Andrews\, with two UK tours under their belt. \n2024 proved their busiest year yet following the release of their debut EP El Dorado in June\, (“vividly nostalgic songs that envelop and intrigue you” – Boot Music) and sold out shows at the Music Room\, Liverpool and Green Note\, Camden. Gaining momentum\, the trio made their second appearance at Black Deer Festival in the Summer\, before sharing a line-up with The Jacksons at Liverpool Pier Head\, closing the year with a 9-date UK and Ireland tour selling out venues in Wales\, Ireland and Liverpool. \nTheir 2025 itinerary sees them continue with their highly anticipated self-releases\, following the success of their fingerpicked ballad Rosie which has received comparisons to the likes of Nick Drake and Fleetwood Mac\, surpassing 20k streams on Spotify. Catch their harmonies live at Festivals this Summer and at their headline show at ARC\, Liverpool in July. \n“After all their time playing in Liverpool\, it’s no surprise their sound is already honed and song craft accomplished.” \nAMERICANA UK \n“The perfect soundtrack to a road trip at sunset\, leaving your troubles behind and your hopes out in front.” \nURBANISTA \n“This is sophisticated Americana that should see them going places.” \nFATEA

SUMMARY:Mercury Reads: Kynochtown
DESCRIPTION:Join us for Mercury Reads a series of lively rehearsed readings celebrating local voices and fresh new writing. Each event spotlights an exciting playwright from our region\, giving audiences the chance to see new stories take shape for the very first time. \nIn this session\, join us in the Café Bar on Thu 20 Nov at 4pm as we look at Kynochtown by Vickie Donoghue. On the banks of the river Thames\, hidden within the Essex marshes\, is a thriving explosives factory. Within it are the women of Kynochtown. With the men away fighting on the battlefield\, it is the women who must step up into the dangerous roles that have been left vacant. \nThis play is about the female impact on this dangerous industry and how the history that those women made\, once victory was had in WW1\, disappeared into the marshes as fast as it had appeared. And with the smoke\, the canteen banter and the constant threat of explosions\, it was also the women’s troubles\, their sacrifices\, their love and their loss that were all lost to the mud. \nInspired by the true story of the brave women from Kynoch Explosives Factory in Essex\, Kynochtown sets out to readdress the fact that women are seldom remembered in history. Their part in significant historical events is frequently minimised. This play will shine a light on a group of women who changed everything and nothing. Their struggle is still our struggle. This play is about friendship. Motherhood. And survival.

SUMMARY:Ali Matthews & Co: Mushroom Language - A Fungal Gothic
DESCRIPTION:Pay what you can affordDoors open 7:30 pm\, Show starts 8 pmThis show is for a seated audience \nMushroom Language: A Fungal Gothic \nThey eat nappiesThey eat toothbrushesThey eat bombsThey eat newspapers about how the world will end…a species running slowly in parallel preaching change silently digesting muck into matter and back again. \nMushroom Language: A Fungal Gothic is about the cycles that shape us – eruption\, reproduction and decay. It’s about role-playing the lichen love stories\, spore shoot-outs and truffle siren songs found in our forests. \nIn an eerie and funny homage to folk horror\, two human performers absorb and mimic ‘mushroom language’ through ritual and power dynamics. Who are these creatures\, and what are the mushrooms trying to tell them? Dreamlike conversations and movement sequences are underpinned by original music from composer Hannah Miller (of the Moulettes) and playful design by Rūta Irbīte. \nMushrooms offer us a lens into a more sustainable future\, but nature is hilarious and terrifying. \nClick here for visual access guide
