Without a fuss. \n\nYou’re in very safe hands\, we’ve done this many many many times before. \n\nIn a Song and Dance\, a performer is lost in his own repeating anxiety dream\, trying to stay on topic and keep the show on the road. As he gradually loses the plot\, distracted by the ghosts of previous shows & his own unfeasible life story\, the show starts to unravel. DESCRIPTION:A monthly gathering for artists\, creatives\, and the curious to explore the uncharted territories of imagination. \nGuided by Daniel & Clara\, each session unfolds around a new theme\, inviting attendees into participatory exercises\, immersive experiences\, and collective discussion. \nSitting at the intersection of workshop\, performance\, and experimental space\, the Lab encourages experimentation\, challenges habitual thinking\, and opens space for the unpredictable\, playful\, and untamed aspects of creativity. \nIt is a radical environment that celebrates the strange\, messy\, and complex dreaming creatures we are – inviting us to think differently\, create more freely\, and cultivate a wilder\, more embodied connection with both the inner and outer worlds. \nThe second half of each session offers an open platform for participants to share work\, test ideas\, or try something new\, fostering collaboration\, curiosity\, and collective discovery. \nThe Rewilding Imagination Lab sparks creative freedom\, playful risk-taking\, and new ways of thinking\, feeling\, and being. \nAbout Daniel & Clara  \nSince meeting in 2010\, artists Daniel & Clara have dedicated themselves to a shared life of creative experimentation\, working across moving image\, photography\, performance and mail art to explore the nature of human experience\, perception and reality. \nTheir current projects focus on the complex relationship between humans and the natural world\, particularly exploring the climate crisis as a psychological crisis. \nTheir work has been exhibited and screened at Norwich Castle Museum (2025)\, Art Exchange\, Colchester (2024)\, Focal Point Gallery\, Southend (2021)\, By Art Matters\, Hangzhou (2021)\, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin\, Grand Palais Paris & HKW Berlin (2020)\, Kettle’s Yard\, Cambridge (2019)\, Whitechapel Gallery\, London (2019)\, Museu de Arte Moderna Rio de Janeiro\, Brazil (2019). Each session blends practical instruction with opportunities for discussion\, collaboration\, and playful exploration. \nThese sessions can be attended as a full course or by or choosing individual sessions. For the course option you will need to add all four dates to your basket. \nSession Rotation \n\nLets Draw Together – collaborative drawing and exploration of drawing tools using still life\nLet’s See – observational drawing from images and techniques to help\nLet’s Not Be Precious – speed drawing from life\nLet’s Make a Tonal Sketch – exploring observational drawing from images focusing on values\n\nBasic materials provided. Food and drink is also available for purchase throughout the session from our cafes. This workshop is suitable for ages 14+. \nWhat is observational drawing? \nObservational drawing is the practice of sketching from real-life subjects\, focusing on what you see rather than drawing from imagination. \nIt encourages a deeper connection to your surroundings\, helping you notice details in light\, texture\, form and composition that often go unnoticed in daily life. \nAbout your tutor \nTina Bullen is from Colchester and describes herself as an ‘artist who also teaches’. DESCRIPTION:Discover the fascinating world of natural inks! \nExplore how everyday natural materials can be transformed into inks with their own distinctive colours\, textures and qualities. \nFrom vibrant turmeric and blue butterfly pea flower to indigo\, you’ll discover the surprising range of possibilities these materials offer while creating your own artwork. \nWhat to expect \nThe session will begin with a demonstration of how simple ingredients can be used to make natural inks\, followed by the opportunity to make a couple of your own while exploring a selection of ready-made inks. \nYou’ll then choose from a range of short creative projects including abstract painting\, flowers\, landscapes or illuminated letters. \nReference images will be provided for the flower and landscape projects\, while the abstract and lettering projects offer more freedom to develop your own ideas. \nYou’ll be encouraged to experiment with the inks throughout the session\, exploring different approaches to mark-making and developing your chosen project in your own style.. \nGood to know \nBasic materials and a selection of inks are provided\, including inks made from turmeric\, butterfly pea flower\, hibiscus\, indigo and weld. Working from your own reflection in a mirror\, you’ll learn how to observe the structure and features of your face before interpreting and exaggerating what you see in your own way. \nWhat to expect \nThe session begins with a short introduction to modern self-portraiture and a demonstration of how to establish the face using shape and colour. \nYou’ll then create your own self-portrait with individual guidance throughout\, experimenting with your features\, clothing\, background and colour to make the portrait personal. \nYou’ll leave with your own modern self-portrait in oils and greater confidence in approaching portrait painting. \nGood to know \nBasic materials provided. Food and drink is also available for purchase throughout the session from our cafés. \nThis workshop is suitable for ages 16+ and is suitable for beginners as well as those with some experience of oil painting. \nAbout your tutor \nDenisa Mansfield is an artist whose work explores expressive colour\, movement\, and emotion through the language of Impressionism and abstraction. \nShe works primarily in oils\, with a focus on how traditional methods can be reinterpreted in contemporary ways. When Moon disbanded in 1976\, Noel released a solo album\, Night Time Emotion\, produced by Trevor Rabin. Since meeting in 2019\, the trio have established themselves not only as dynamic performers but also as sensitive re- interpreters of the tradition. \nEach artist is well respected in their own right: Archie Moss (accordion) is a BBC award- winning musician\, a celebrated composer\, and one of the most in-demand button accordion players in the UK\, has performed alongside Seth Lakeman\, Sam Sweeney\, and Eliza Carthy. \nToby Shaer (fiddle\, flute\, whistles\, cittern) is a multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and producer from the southeast of England. Over the past ten years\, he has toured extensively across Europe\, Australia\, and China with revered artists such as Cara Dillon\, McCusker\, McGoldrick\, Doyle\, and\, alongside Archie Moss\, with Sam Kelly & the Lost Boys. \nJack Warnock (guitar\, vocals) hails from Co. Derry in Ireland. An award-winning guitarist and singer\, he is also an avid Gaeilgeoir (Irish speaker)\, performing songs in both Irish and English. His compositions and repertoire are steeped in storytelling as he embraces the lineage of folk music in its truest form. \nThis trio approach their craft and arrangements with delicacy and thought\, drawing influence from a plethora of traditions.
