Despite forming at the height of Punk\, front man Mark Knopfler’s distinctive guitar picking style gave the band an alternative and instantly recognisable sound. The band reached its peak in the mid 80s playing larger venues including a memorable slot at Live Aid. So far record sales have reached over 100 million worldwide and Knopfler is still regarded as one of the finest guitarists and songwriters this country has produced.

SUMMARY:Cloudbusting - The Music of Kate Bush
DESCRIPTION:‘Utterly\, surreally brilliant’ – Mick Wall\, Classic Rock Magazine \nCloudbusting can’t wait to share their love for the music of Kate Bush with their two-hour stage production featuring all the hits you’d expect – as well as many songs you wouldn’t! Wuthering Heights\, Hounds of Love\, Babooshka\, This Woman’s Work… and of course the world-wide No.1 hit single that took every music chart by storm 37 years after its release – Running Up That Hill – all with breath-taking vocals and superb musicianship \nThe show is enhanced with stunning back-projection visuals which reflect the character and mood of the songs\, making a Cloudbusting concert an event that no Kate Bush fan will want to miss! \n‘Blown away – your spin on Kate Bush is amazing’ – RTÉ Radio \nCloudbusting are the longest running and most universally celebrated tribute to the music of Kate Bush. With TV appearances and live performances across both the UK and Europe\, the band has earned an enviable reputation for being unquestionably the most accurate and authentic live experience for Kate fans. \nSignificantly\, they are the only band in the world to have performed Kate’s music with her original bass player and long standing sound engineer Del Palmer\, as well as drummer and percussionist Preston Heyman who appeared on the Tour Of Life\, Never For Ever & The Dreaming. The band has also performed with Stewart Avon-Arnold – Kate’s co-choreographer and dance partner who appeared with her in so many of those iconic videos and performances throughout her career. That’s quite an endorsement for Cloudbusting but it also stands as a reflection of the talent\, tenacity and passion that the 5-piece band has for Kate’s stunning music. \n‘I could have been listening to Kate herself!’ – Preston Heyman \nWith tickets to shows selling out fast\, be sure to look out for tour dates near you – Cloudbusting would love to exchange the experience!

Across this 14-date UK tour\, each night promises a powerful\, close-quarters experience. \nOn stage\, When Rivers Meet remain exactly what they have always been: Grace & Aaron Bond. They are joined by long-time collaborator James Fox\, adding depth and texture through percussion\, guitar\, and backing vocals. With three musicians on stage\, the sound is expansive and full-bodied. \nFresh from a run of remarkable chart success including a Top 10 Official UK Albums Chart entry with Aces Are High and a #4 Official UK Albums Chart with Addicted To You\, alongside multiple Official UK #1 positions across genre and format charts\, When Rivers Meet continue to prove that independence and ambition can go hand in hand. \nThis is When Rivers Meet at their most distilled and most intense. \nwww.wheniversmeet.co.uk

SUMMARY:Scarred For Life - Folk Horror Special
DESCRIPTION:Tickets £16.50.Doos open 7.30pm\, starts 8pm.This show is for a seated audience. \nA fun and informative performance – lecture with Bob Fischer and Stephen Brotherstone. \nWhen it comes to vintage creepiness\, “Folk Horror” has become a thrilling genre in its own right. From terrifying films like The Wicker Man and Witchfinder General to the weird folklore of The Owl Service and even the gentle thrills of Worzel Gummidge\, the popular culture of the late 20th century is riddled with dark magic and eerie stone circles. And\, indeed\, a feeling that something ancient and distinctly unpleasant lies just beneath the soil. \nSince 2017\, Stephen Brotherstone has been expertly chronicling the terrifying popular culture of the 1970s and ‘80s as co-writer of the acclaimed Scarred For Life books. Fortean Times columnist Bob Fischer\, meanwhile\, is the creator of The Haunted Generation\, a multi-media exploration of the weirder side of the 1970s childhood. \nIn this fun but informative show\, Stephen and Bob will be unearthing the twisted\, buried artefacts of Folk Horror. Penda’s Fen\, Robin Redbreast and the BBC’s classic Ghost Stories For Christmas are all in their sights\, together with more recent additions like Midsommer and Enys Men. And\, of course\, the recently-unearthed “lost” Folk Horror classic\, Sex Witches of the Fens. \nAfterwards there’ll be a Q&A\, so feel free to chip in with your own thoughts on the genre. And\, indeed\, to let us know if you’re concerned about the strange whistle you’ve just uncovered on the beach… \nREVIEWS FOR THE SCARRED FOR LIFE BOOKS: \n“A charming look back at a time when pop culture was used to scare the living daylights out of every child and adult across the land” – Louder Than War “It might just stop the nightmares” – We Are Cult “Such an engaging and fascinating read” – Horrified Magazine “Their enthusiastic expertise for the subject is enlightening and infectious” – Fortean Times \nhttps://bsky.app/profile/scarredforlife.bsky.socialhttps://x.com/ScarredForLife2https://www.facebook.com/scarredforlifebook https://www.instagram.com/scarredforlifebook/
