This local group has gotten from strength to strength\, with the help of this fantastic community. With every event\, we are making minor tweeks and fine tuning everything\, it’s incredible to see\, as it was mainly a group of three of us just wanting to play Fighting Games offline! \nWith this in mind\, the top 4 players for each main game over the course of September\, October\, November and December\, will battle it out in a very special event to commemorate the end of the season! More info soon… \nWe will be running our three main games again\, Street Fighter 6\, Tekken 8 and Guilty Gear: Strive\, all with streams (after we were able to run the streams well last month). In addition there are casual setups throughout the day to play those games\, plus a potential surprise community tournament! More on that soon! \nPlease read on for everything you need to know about Colchester Collision #3! \nOur event in Colchester\, Essex aims to provide a fun setting for fighting games within the local community. This is all done completely grassroots and with help from some members of the community! Failure to do will result in ejection from the venue and will be banned from any future events! \nThe venue is a board gaming cafe\, named Dice & a Slice\, located in Colchester town. DESCRIPTION:Let yourself be carried away by 90 minutes of wonderful music\, courtesy of the José Almarcha Trio\, where through the different flamenco styles\, you will experience a variety of emotions and feelings. This concert is flamenco music in its purest form\, but also incorporating elements of jazz.​You will experience harrowing moments in this thrilling performance\, courtesy of an exposed and powerful guitar\, percussion that will give the music strength and rhythmic vitality\, while the piano will bring jazzy notes that harmonise with flamenco sounds – a perfect fit\, given that both genres are derived from the cries of oppressed people.​​Following the excellent reception of his debut album\, Vejézate\, José released his follow-up\, Alejandra\, to critical acclaim in 2023\, and undertook an extensive UK tour last year to promote it.​Un Nuevo Paseo\, his third album\, was released this year. It marks a turning point in his career as it explores new sounds and a novel idea of flamenco fusion while always staying true to the genre’s core.​José is a virtuoso guitarist\, as anyone who saw his concert for us in June would attest. You will not be let disappointed! \nJosé Almarcha (Guitar) Andre JahJah (Keyboard)Demi Garcia Sabat (Percussion). \nJosé Almarcha: \nBorn in Tomelloso\, Castilla La Mancha (the land of Don Quijote)\, José started playing guitar at a very young age and then went on to study flamenco at the Cordoba Conservatory of Music with great masters of the instrument such as Paco Serrano and Niño de Pura. \nA veritable virtuoso\, with an extensive artistic career\, he is a previous winner of the prestigious International Flamenco Guitar Competition\, Niño Ricardo. \nJosé’s tireless exploration of the instrument has allowed him to develop his own personal language\, which also highlights his outstanding technique. \nHe regularly composes for and performs with Spanish dance companies\, such as Olga Pericet\, Marcos Flores\, Antonio Canales\, Sara Calero\, and José Manuel Álvarez.
