SlackFolk is on Saturday 9th November, between 2.00 pm and 4.30 pm, at Coda, 63 High Street, Colchester, CO1 1DN – on the south side of the High Street between St Nicholas Street and Queen Street.
The November SlackFolk session will feature music from:
Crayon Angels – An acoustic guitar driven trio combining folk influenced song-writing with a vibrant and soulful delivery;
Jagneld – An a capella quartet singing early music, some madrigal-type, some semi classical and some more folky;
Felix Stowaways – The ultimate buoy band, singing sea shanties, work songs and songs of the sea`;
Bob Cross – A mix of instrumental and vocal music from a talented musician from Tollesbury; and
Dave Rado – An authority on the history and derivation of folk song, with a session of a capella community song to join in and enjoy.
SlackFolk presents a platform for acoustic solo artists, bands and poets to showcase their material and offers everybody a chance to escape the chores of Saturday afternoon and to hear some great local acoustic music and poetry. All are welcome and entry is free.
