Friday 3rd December sees a welcome return to Twisters Bar for the funky club night ‘GrownSoul’. Since GrownSoul’s conception around a year ago, the collective’s DJs CantCutCarwyn and Shoesy have regularly provided reworked versions of funk classics, hip-hop breaks, pop favourites and everything in between, to Colchester’s finest. Stand out gigs have included DJ’ing on the Main Stage of Colchester Free Festival and last year’s Xbox Reverb gig at Colchester Arts Centre which on the night gained them the attention of Radio One’s Huw Stephens.

Carwyn Jones said, “It’s been a great year for me and Joe having cut our teeth at the free festivals and playing around and about Colchester’s coolest venues, but it’s great to have a regular spot at Twisters because that’s where we came and first heard a lot of these tunes in the first place.

“There is always a real fun and happy vibe at our gigs because of the accessible form of the music, there is always something people recognise as well as a few cool things they might not have”.

Grown Soul is presented by Shoesy and Can’tCutCarwyn Jones on the 3rd from 8pm at Twisters Cocktail Bar on North Hill. Colchester.
