Keep Colchester Cool, in conjunction with Trotters Bar, presents the second in a series of free events which showcase local acts who we think you should be hearing more of.

Trotters Bar provides an intimate environment so we’re looking to achieve a night with the best possible atmosphere.

On Thursday 25th March we have Young Swells who will be supported by Jack Howe.

Young Swells consist of the musical talent of Gabriela Eva Stratton Prior and Ben Wuyts and they’ve had a superb start to 2010, playing The Fat Cat, Minories, Life Cafe and Twisters (twice) amongst others.
Young Swells provide strong original harmonies with an eclectic style, and demonstrate an imaginative and prolific song writing ability.

I first heard Jack Howe play at The Fat Cat’s Open Mic Night and then at The Bull’s Open Mic Night. Ben Wuyts recently described Jack as a provider of “some slapping and tapping tunes, this chap has some badass guitar skills, not one to be missed.” I can only agree.

If you’ve heard Young Swells or Jack Howe before you’ll want to to see them play this gig. If you haven’t, now’s your chance so please come along and show your support for Colchester’s music scene.
