This gig is part of a weekend of special events in celebration of the Folk Club’s 60th Birthday. Other events include Dougie MacLean, Blowzabella and Megson’s Family Folk Show.
Between them Vince Rayner and Elaine Barker have been at the helm of Colchester Folk Club for much of its 60 year history. In conversation with Anthony Roberts, Director of Colchester Arts Centre which has been the club’s home since 1982, Vince and Elaine will talk about personal highlights of the last 60 years, anecdotes and memories from the club’s long history and finally put to rest the question ‘Did Paul Simon turn up at the club in the ‘60s to be told there was no room for a floor spot!’
With musical contributions by Rosewood and Gwendal Moele and Paul Riley – long-standing stalwarts of the club – tickets are free but it’s essential you book!
