Once described as ‘Essex Riviera’s hardest working musician’ by The Daily Mirror, David Woodcock, a Southend based singer songwriter, previously signed to Blow Up Records, has drawn favourable comparisons to Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Richard Hawley and Ray Davies to name a few. David’s songs are steeped in the classic British song-writing tradition epitomised by the likes of Steve Harley and Ian Dury. Lyrics are filled with humour, pathos and wry observations. After a successful live session in 2024 on 6 Music with Riley and Coe, he has been consistently gigging with his full band The Fixtures and is self-releasing his latest album ‘Readjusting’ in Jan 2025. His previous album ‘Pictures of Me’ was dubbed ‘Modern Life is Rubbish for the selfie generation’ by the national press and his live performances have been described as ‘ferociously energetic’, ‘lyrically adept’ and with ‘every observation honed to perfection.’
