Introduction to Intimacy Coordination Masterclass by Lucy Fennell.

This is a Mercury Creatives Masterclass in Association with Harlow Playhouse.

This workshop will introduce participants to principles and tools for approaching intimacy in performance. Participants will explore how artists can stage intimate content for theatre in a consent-forward way, including communicating boundaries clearly and effectively to maintain actors’ wellbeing and create dynamic physical storytelling. The workshop will also discuss the practicalities of working on intimate scenes in the industry (for actors, directors, and producers) and the process of collaborating with Intimacy Directors.

Please note: there will be no nudity, simulated sex or kissing in the workshop. Participants will be offered exercises which include basic non-romantic/erotic physical touch within boundaries, but nobody will have to participate in anything they don’t want to.
