Mercury Theatre Colchester, Rose Theatre Kingston and Storyhouse present a new production of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre, in association with Northern Stage and supported by the Royal Theatrical Support Trust.
Orphaned as a young girl, Jane longs to escape the control of her cruel aunt. An opportunity to work as a governess takes her to the home of the mysterious Mr Rochester, where attraction develops as Jane begins to uncover the secrets around her.
The production is directed by Lily Dyble, winner of the 2025 RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award, and is based on the adaptation by Sally Cookson, Mike Akers and the original company.
Jane Eyre runs at the Mercury Theatre from Saturday 26 September to Saturday 10 October 2026, with a mixture of matinee and evening performances across the run.
