Colchester punk duo The Meffs are currently inside the UK Top 40 in the midweek Albums Chart with their new album Business.
Released last Friday, 11th September, through Frontiers Label Group, Business is the second album from Lily Hopkins and Lewis Copsey, following What A Life in 2024.
The Meffs formed in 2019 and have spent the years since playing venues and festivals across the UK and Europe. Their final chart position has yet to be decided, but Business is now in contention to finish inside the UK Top 40.
Produced by Dan Weller, the album features 11 tracks, including Dreamin’, What A Nightmare, Where Did It All Go Wrong?, Law and Like Gravity. Its songs cover political figures, war, social media and the continuing debate around people’s bodies.
Introducing the album, The Meffs said: “Business was never going to be an album of love songs. It was never going to be an album that saw the world through rose-tinted glasses.”
