9.49°C After six years as owner of The Twist in Colchester, Neal Hargreaves has sold the venue as a going concern to Ian Dane from Rochford, Essex, who brings many years of experience in the music industry and in running live music venues.
On Saturday, 10 July 2010, The Twist will host a meet-and-greet session, giving customers the opportunity to welcome Ian. Live music will come from Crab Meat Moon and Bedlam, with more acts to be announced. Entry is free all night.
Doors open at 8pm.
Footnote – June 2011
On 4 June 2011, The Twist on Military Road closed its doors. Koopa, Dave Woodcock, Jellycats, As Worlds Collide, Not Going Out, Nothing Ascends, and Hands Shaped Like Hearts performed at ‘The Last Night Of The Twist’, marking the end of an era.
At that time, no announcement had been made about the venue’s future.
