Keep Colchester Cool is an independent platform sharing what’s on in Colchester and celebrating the city’s music, arts and cultural scene.

I first thought of Keep Colchester Cool during a lunchtime drink with a friend in September 2009. We talked about how great Colchester is if you know the right places, but it was often hard to find out what was happening each week or which Colchester events were worth checking out.

That same day, I started the Keep Colchester Cool Facebook group. Now, it has over 5,000 members who get updates about everything unique in Colchester. The group’s success led me to create this website, making it easier for people to discover what’s on in Colchester, from live music and theatre to comedy nights and independent venue events.

What Keep Colchester Cool Does

Here’s what Keep Colchester Cool is all about:

• Promoting Colchester’s music and arts scene

• Highlighting venues hosting live music in Colchester, special nights and DJs

• Supporting all parts of the arts and creative community

• Showcasing organisations, charities, restaurants, bars, pubs and shops that bring something unique to the city

This website isn’t a full guide to every event in Colchester, but it proudly features the city’s best events and venues.
