Sparky at SparkWrite reviews The Zoollusionist: Tails Of a Magical Zoo Keeper, staged at Three Wise Monkeys.
Is she a zoo keeper or is she a magician?… She’s both! Lizzie Durkin presents a brilliant, unique, never-seen-before show to the Colchester Fringe Festival.
This wonderful show featured lively audience participation that engaged everyone, young and old. The atmosphere was electric, with a vibrant energy that flowed throughout the entire performance. The creative use of props added an exciting dimension, while the green lighting beautifully transformed the space, evoking the feeling of being inside a zoo enclosure. The magic acts were well executed and left the audience in awe. I was particularly enchanted by how Lizzie skillfully wove animals into one of her enchanting tricks (like making balloon animals), which made the experience even more memorable and delightful. Lizzie used her knowledge as a zoo keeper to educate the audience about animals, and with a sprinkle of magic, she gave this show a wonderful and unique twist.
This show was great, and I think it was a brilliant idea to incorporate some education within the performance. It has so much potential, and I look forward to seeing it at next year’s Colchester Fringe!
