After a hiatus of 16 months, I’m returning to promoting live music.
In collaboration with Colchester Arts Centre, Keep Colchester Cool proudly presents a showcase gig – Colchester’s Sound – featuring four outstanding local acts – Bridget., Greebo, Generation Feral, and Butterfly Handshake. Saturday 18th November, sees a night of diverse sounds that contribute to Colchester’s vibrant music scene.
You’ll be treated to the raw energy of Essex-born and raised alt-rock powerhouse, Bridget. At just 21 years old, Bridget. She has carved a niche with a gutsy blend of alt-rock, punk, and grunge. Her ferocious live performances have earned her a full UK run tour supporting PET NEEDS and airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock and Total Rock. Described as ‘head-down, no bullshit and hard as fuck,’ Bridget’s unapologetic stage presence promises an unforgettable experience. If you haven’t joined her in the pit yet, now’s your chance.
Up next is Greebo, serving up grungey-indie-punk that leaves a lasting impression. A band I booked plenty of times when I was at TWM Live; it will be a buzz seeing them play at Colchester Arts Centre.
Generation Feral, the brainchild of Izzy Liddamore, takes the stage as an artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Blending indie-acoustic ukulele loop pedal moments with dramatic, piano-led deep cuts, Generation Feral delves into spoken word, crafting a musical depiction of the experiences of the ‘feral generation’ in 2023.
Butterfly Handshake, the act that caught the attention of myself, Stafford Glover and Neil D’arcy Jones at Colchester Rock Prom 2023, earning them a spot opening Colchester’s Sound, and a worthy return to the Arts Centre stage.
Doors open at 7.30pm, and a great turnout is what these homegrown acts deserve. Join us at Colchester Arts Centre! Tickets £7.
