Any rumours that we booked Male Model just because ET starred in their debut video are completely false. The truth is, we booked them – along with FELC, Simon Craze, and Bada Duum – because they perfectly represent what Colchester’s Sound nights are all about.
These nights are designed to celebrate the local music scene. The line-ups are carefully curated with that in mind, the funding supports it, and the posters are created to spotlight the full line-up, not any individual act. Keep Colchester Cool events have always embraced this approach, and the Arts Centre proudly backs it.
Tonight, Saturday 22 March, Colchester Arts Centre X Keep Colchester Cool presents Colchester’s Sound 5 featuring:
Male Model
Formed in 2023 over drinks and a shared love of music, Male Model is the brainchild of Teddy James Driscoll, Justin Smith, and Tom Delaney. The band’s name is a playful nod to their sense of humour. Their sound draws inspiration from the likes of the Ramones, Stooges, and Misfits, with echoes of The Hives, The Datsuns, and The Hellacopters. Male Model delivers punchy three-minute bursts of energy, channelling excess and attitude for those who want to let loose and have a good time.
FELC
Felix Cochez, known as FELC, blends trap music and melodic rap, while embracing other genres along the way. Inspired by artists as diverse as Dr. Dre, MIKA, Travis Scott, Paolo Nutini, and XXXTENTACION, FELC has been crafting music since he was just 12 years old. His debut track, Halloween, dropped in 2019 – and he hasn’t looked back since.
Simon Craze
A seasoned songwriter, Simon Craze brings a soulful, acoustic touch to the evening. Currently working on his third solo album, Simon writes and performs every note of his music, creating an intimate live experience that showcases his personal sound.
Bada Duum
For something darker and more bass-heavy, Bada Duum delivers electronic music with an edge. Drawing influences from industrial, baile funk, and afrobeat, Bada Duum crafts an immersive sonic experience that pulls you into the rhythm.
