In an exciting 4 week journey, you will get to explore experimenting with a variety of styles & ideas with a view of stimulating new content.

Through various activities & exploration exercises we will begin building up your writing skills as well as developing ways to use language creatively to capture your audience’s attention. Delving into lyrics, short stories, plays and poetry, the course will culminate in the opportunity to share your own practice and receive constructive feedback given from peers that you can act on.

The course has demonstrated a very positive impact on mental health & wellbeing. It has also helped to foster community and crucially improve participants confidence in their own writing.

Beginners Creative Writing Skill Outcomes

– The ability to think & write critically and creatively.

– A willingness to engage with the creative work of both published writers and your peers.

– An interest and engagement with creating and developing your own original work.

– Exploration into more unique writing scaffolds such as oulipo, black out poetry, unreliable narrator & the 3 act structure as well as concepts such as ‘chose your own adventure’ and Dnd improvised game based story writing.
