Bring The Drama Festival

February 23, 2024

Bring the Drama Festival is run by a group of cultural organisations in film, television and theatre to inspire people to consider job opportunities in the craft skills area of the creative industries.

This 3-hour event will give you a taste of the variety of jobs that are in the theatre sector and specifically what roles are done at the Mercury Theatre. You will get to do 3 short taster sessions with the technical team on the Mercury Theatre stage, meet the costume department and also learn about theatre partitioning in community and education. This will then be concluded with a Q&A panel of staff from the Mercury Theatre.

This is for young people who might want to know more about what jobs are in the sector, those that might be thinking about a career change or for those that have a general interest in the theatre and want to know more.

The event will be from 10-1pm and is open to adults and children 7+.
Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

The Mercury Theatre is fully accessible via lifts including all areas backstage.

This is a part of the BBC Bring The Drama festival which is joining forces with some of the UK’s leading cultural organisations to create the first festival of its kind: bringing together stage and screen and opening up the doors to the next generation of behind-the-scenes talent.
