I hope Santa was kind to you all. After the joy that was the 25th of December it’s now time to announce the Chappel Winter Beer Festival for 2024.

The Winter Festival will be on Thursday – Saturday 29 February to 2 March 2024, and the festival is open all three days 11.00am to 11.00pm. Planning is still ongoing, but we plan to have over 70 cask Ales, as well as a range of Ciders & Perry some wine and soft drinks. This will be held in the unique Chappel Goods Shed, which is part of the East Anglian Railway Museum at Chappel & Wakes Colne Station. As in recent years this event is ticket only, with tickets sold on first come first served basis. There is only one ticket release and we have limited space, so once we sell out thats it, there WILL NOT be any second ticket release/ The only additional ticket salves afterwards will be if we get returns. There will be NO live music at the event, and NO camping available. We expect there to be some food available but this is not yet finalised.

This is probably the only Beer Festival where a working National Rail Station is within the festival, which makes making travel to and from by train very easy. The station, Chappel & Wakes Colne, is on the Marks Tey to Sudbury branch line, operated by Greater Anglia. There is an hourly service to Sudbury and to Marks Tey, and from Marks Tey there are connections through to London Liverpool Street, Colchester, Clacton & Ipswich. The No 88 / 88A passes by and we have car parking available, although if you’re going to drink PLEASE use Public Transport.

Inevitably as this post has the words “tickets” and “sold out” it will attract spammers and scalpers replying and trying to sell tickets, even though they are not available for almost a week, so I’ll be locking this to comments.
