Description

SENtre Sounds presents a Singing workshop where we will explore singing technique, karaoke and make some noise together! It doesn’t matter if you feel you can’t sing in tune, this session is all about having fun and exploring different singing styles.

COLCHESTER SENtre Sounds (8-14 years) Mondays 8 sessions, 4.30pm-6.00pm. Excluding half term week.

We are offering an 8 week course, afterschool, in a lovely studio in Stanway.

About the sessions

Megan Juniper (Meggie) has a Masters in Musical Theatre and is a creative practitioner & performer. Meggie has worked with Charlotte Foxley for many years leading SEN sessions for diddi dance, so we are delighted to be able to expand our activities into Music. Meggie provides singing lessons for people of different ages and abilities with her unique experience and ability to unlock vocal potential by using vocal anatomy to produce different sounds.

There is no pressure to sing, we want the children to come and enjoy the Sounds class and we will work with the children and adapt the session to suit their needs. We have alternative musical props & instruments to help engage the body with voice and add an extra spice to singing.

Specialist music composed and sung by Meggie for SENtre Sounds. We love Karaoke so on some of the sessions we will be trying this too. Small group size to help improve confidence, gain independence, and have fun!

Community-based Activity

SENtre (Essex) offer fully inclusive music class for everyone we all have a voice, let’s make some noise!

Specialist Group

Our activities have been developed for children with learning disabilities and autism although we welcome all children with an Essex Short Break Passport ID aged 8-14 years. Each child will receive a needs assessment before the first session to allow us to offer the best support and safe staff ratios. If your child requires a 1:1 this must be agreed and arranged prior to attending to ensure we have the correctly trained staff. We have limited 1:1 space.
