Guided tours will run from 11 – 11.45am and 2.30 – 3.15pm everyday between Monday 26th – Friday 30th May.

Step back in time and experience Colchester Castle like never before on this family-friendly tour that brings history to life! Explore the castle’s fascinating past, searching for dragon eggs and learning the tasks of a knight in training.

Your guide will lead you through the Roman vaults and across the Castle roof, exploring areas where knights would have worked, slept and relaxed. This is your chance to step into their (very heavy!) shoes whilst keeping your eyes peeled for dragon eggs as you explore!

These tours are suitable for all ages. Perfect for families, they offer a chance to see Colchester’s rich history in a fun and engaging way.

Please note the tour includes climbing uneven stairs, crouching to pass through low archways and some uneven flooring underfoot.

Tickets cost £3.50 per person after Castle admission.

Please arrive at least 10 minutes before the start of the tour to allow time to check in at reception and receive your tour instructions.
