January 14, 2024

There is no musical organisation on the planet quite like the Grand Union Orchestra.

For nearly 40 years, it has brought together musicians and singers born or brought up in all major musical traditions worldwide to reflect vividly the society we live in today.

Acknowledged as a pioneer and leading exponent of cross-cultural music-making in the UK and once memorably commended for ‘making cultural diversity an art-form’, Grand Union continues to blaze a trail unrivalled by any other organisation, characterised by its story-telling and the authentic lived experience of its artists.

Collectively, the band members have accrued a wealth of experience over the years, either from running their own groups or performing with other artists.

Come join its smaller sibling, Grand Union Band, on a journey through the African diaspora, and across the Atlantic to Latin America and the Caribbean. Enjoy rhythms and music from around the world, including calypso, soca, reggae, salsa and samba. Music to move the feet and lift the heart!
