From the pre-Christian era to the Victorian, from Greek Orthodox to Quakers, from Muslim to Masonic, we have always had churches. Colchester’s former churches have become a museum, an arts centre, a masonic hall, a theatre, or have been demolished entirely leaving only a few gravestones. This walk will discover many forgotten gems as well as highlight the different attitudes to preserving our past. With Robert Johnstone.
