Neil Angilley Trio. Spellbinding Brazilian/Cuban Jazz

December 10, 2023

“Havana Club is nothing short of spectacular. Reminiscent, at times, of the great works of Michel Camillo and Chick Corea, this Brazilian fusion trio album is world-class.” – Blues & Soul

“Lyrical . . . impressively fluid.” – The Times

“The crowd was captivated by the Neil Angilley Trio’s authentic Brazilian rhythms on top of rich vocal harmonies, segueing into staggering solo and group passages of virtuosity. Sensational.” – Ronnie Scott’s

“Rhapsodic . . . with shrewd use of space and restraint.” – The Guardian

Keyboardist and arranger for Grammy-nominated chart-topping jazz funk band Down to the Bone, Neil Angilley is also the first-choice keyboardist in Derek Nash’s Funk Experience, Latin group Picante, and Noel McCalla’s Some Kinda Wonderful.

A stunning pianist, equally at home playing Jazz, Latin, or Classical, Neil has also worked with violin virtuoso Vanessa Mae, alto saxophonist Maceo Parker, trumpeter Roy Hargrove, Snowboy & The Latin Section, and singers Lionel Richie and Lisa Stansfield.

A great exponent of Latin/Brazilian music, Neil’s remarkable playing is enormously respected throughout the music scene, and his live shows are spellbinding, incorporating instrumental virtuosity and three-part vocal harmony which adds a unique dimension to the sound, creating an uplifting take on infectious rhythms from Brazil and Cuba to the audience.

The Neil Angilley Trio have released four critically acclaimed albums: Yambou, The Lake District, Havana Club (Evening Standard Album of the Week ★★★★★), and Chango (top Latin Album of the Year). Neil’s also appeared as a guest soloist on various albums by US3 and GRP recording artist David Benoit.

Neil Angilley (Keyboard/Vocals), Davide Mantovani (Bass Guitar/Lead Vocals), Davide Giovannini (Drums/Lead Vocals).
