Screen Printing – Expose a Screen Induction
Prepare and expose a screen using the photo emulsion technique
An induction to learn how to prepare and expose a screen using UV emulsion on the new exposure unit at Colchester Makerspace. This course is aimed primarily at members to create a screen which they can then use at the Makerspace at their leisure.
The induction will cover how to use the materials and access the equipment and is aimed at a slightly more advanced level of screen printer. Although it will be fairly straightforward, it’s useful if you have some experience of screen printing – perhaps you have attended one of our other screen printing workshops before, or have previous experience of the process.
You are welcome to bring along an image you wish to expose – more info will be sent out to attendees about what kind of thing will work best.
The session will go something like this:
– Meet at Makerspace, check that our images will all be ok to expose
– Learn how to coat and expose screens
– Make a test print from our screens
– Tidy up
– End
