Simplifying Pointillism with Reclaim Art Tribe
Join Reclaim Art Tribe at One Colchester Community Hub for this FREE creative session!
In this session we will be exploring the impressionist painting technique of Pointillism developed by Georges Seurat.
Pointillism paintings are created by making several tiny dots of colour to make up an image. It is easy to get lost in the detail when creating, and this art form encourages us to zoom out and see the image as a whole, with the dot work creating the illusion of detail.
This session welcomes everyone of differing art abilities. We will be focusing on a simplified form of Pointillism. This session will be using photos and drawings of nature as inspiration, and you are invited to make your art piece as simple or as complex as you want to. Adelaide, who will be hosting the session, will be available to support and guide you in exploring this art form.
You are welcome to bring in your own art supplies and images of inspiration if you prefer.
There will be a variety of materials for you to experiment with, from acrylic paint to pens, pencils and paper.
Tea and coffee will be available throughout the session free of charge.
This session is open to all adults (18+). Reclaim Art Tribe sessions are LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse and mental health inclusive – every adult is welcome here. Please reach out if you have any accessibility needs.
Tickets are not mandatory but available for peace of mind. You can follow the link to Eventbrite to sign up for tickets for free.
