The Art of Upcycling: Winter Wear & Decorations
Get into the festive spirit and give old clothes a new lease of life in this creative, hands-on workshop exploring the art of upcycling.
Bring along an old, ripped, worn or unworn piece of clothing and transform it into something new for winter – from a festive accessory or badge to colourful decorations.
What to expect
Learn how to combine simple techniques including stitch, collage, and appliqué to add colour, texture, and personality to your old clothes.
Experiment with different fabrics, shapes, and decorative details, and discover how something you might no longer wear can become something completely unique.
You’ll leave with a creatively upcycled piece ready to wear, display, or use as a festive decoration, as well as new ideas for giving old clothes and materials a fresh purpose.
Good to know
Bring along an unwanted piece of clothing to transform during the workshop. Ribbons, extra sustainable materials and vintage book paper are provided.
Food and drink is also available for purchase throughout the session from our cafés.
This workshop is suitable for ages 12+. No sewing or art experience is needed.
