Waterland: The Natural World in Ink and Coloured Pencils
Discover the natural world in ink and coloured pencils. Join artist and author Helen Hanson in using an unusual combination of ink and coloured pencil. This format was originally developed for drawing landscapes.
Helen will take you through the process of applying this medium to drawings of the natural world.
Use creative mark-making in ink and dry coloured pencil, with embossing and lifting out, to depict the plants, birds, or insects of the wetland environment. Using your own or the tutor’s images and the surroundings of Flatford Mill you will be guided through the processes with demonstrations and individual help and encouraged to follow your own style. This is slow art, but enjoyable, and with inspiration and guidance from the tutor you will produce a collection of work that will surprise you.
