A double bill of wonderfulness!
THE STORY OF LARRY written and performed by Moritz Praxmarer based on the true story of “Lawnchair Larry” Walters
How much adventure, drama, and slapstick can fit into a box of fruit tea?
America, Long Beach, California, in the early 80s: Larry is an average American, who one day becomes fixated on the idea of flying. Fueled by his grand dream, he sets himself up in his garage and starts building. The heart of his flying machine: a lawn chair.
Moritz Praxmarer invites you to his kitchen table. Over a cup of tea, he tells the true story of Larry Walters, the most flight-incompetent pilot who ever took off anyway.
Stage design? Ensemble? Special effects? None needed. A cup and tea bags are enough to bring this blockbuster to the table. A minimalist object theater piece in search of the big dreams and why we’re chasing them.
Written & Performed by Moritz Praxmarer
Final direction by Dirk Vittinghoff
Mentoring by Lukas Bangerter & Regine Fritschi
CRACKING
Presented by SDJ Productions, originally developed for BBC Radio 4, co-produced by Theatre Royal, Plymouth
A new dark comedy by Shôn Dale-Jones
A completely made-up true story Shôn’s 83-year old mother is waiting for some test results from the hospital. Shôn goes back home to the Isle of Anglesey to visit her. To relieve some pressure, she asks him to crack an egg on her head. All hell is let loose. Internet trolls appear in real life demanding Shôn stops abusing his mother and gets off the island…
This story about love and hatred celebrates how searching for connection beats disconnecting. CRACKING is a heart-warming and uplifting comic story about loving in the face of hatred.
