10.39°C Get ready to see Colchester in a whole new way as Shimmy & Shhh bring their silent disco walking tour to the city as part of Colchester Fringe, and it promises to be one of the most surreal experiences you’ll have outdoors this autumn.
The idea is simple. You pop on a set of headphones, join a group of fellow party-goers, and follow your hosts through the streets while listening to a playlist packed with crowd-pleasing hits. You’ll dance, sing, and maybe even make a few new friends along the way.
Joe and Ellen, Founders and Chief Hosts behind Shimmy & Shhh, describe their events as “an immersive journey of music, movement, and pure joy.” It’s not about getting every move right – it’s about having a great time, and maybe giving Colchester shoppers a smile as you pass by.
The tours take place between Saturday, 25th October and Sunday, 2nd November, and each tour starts and ends at Lion Walk Courtyard and lasts around 45 minutes. It’s open to ages 8 and up, so families are welcome too. Tickets are £8.
