Firstsite has collaborated with Arts Council England and The Creative Coop to make use of a three-storey Georgian building in the heart of the town centre.

Today, 15 Queen Street opened its doors as a creative members’ hub, designed to connect creative people living and working in Colchester. The aim is to provide space for ideas to flourish, create opportunities for collaboration, help people secure work and get projects off the ground.

15 Queen Street also offers a new meeting space in Colchester’s town centre. Whether you run a local business, training workshops or a community group, the venue provides a contemporary and affordable setting for a range of occasions.

For groups of two to twelve people, the state-of-the-art ‘community pod’ is available by the hour, half-day or full-day, with discounts for charities and not-for-profit organisations. It is ideal for small-scale presentations, seminars and conferences.

Facilities include:

  • Data projector
  • Plasma screen
  • Laptops
  • Flip charts, pens and pads
  • Photocopying service
  • Furnished room
  • High-speed internet
  • On-site toilets
  • Locally supplied catering
  • On-site manager and staff

15 Queen Street has launched a blog at www.15QueenStreet.org and a Twitter account at http://twitter.com/15QueenStreet to keep people updated.
