Thursday 8 April
Doors 7pm

7.30pm – Poetry from Mark Brayley and guests

7.45pm – Lou Terry
Lou Terry, aged 15, writes and performs his own songs on acoustic guitar. He performed at Wivenhoe May Fair in 2009 and won Best Acoustic Act at the Brightlingsea Battle of the Bands. His influences range from Tom Waits to Radiohead.

8.15pm – Poetry from Mark Brayley and guests

8.30pm – Mark Forde Gong Workshop
Buddhist gong master Mark Forde explores the history, philosophy and importance of the gong in the 21st century, demonstrating tone and sound. Includes questions and a chance to explore.

10.00pm – Poetry from Mark Brayley and guests

10.15pm – Clive Cowan
Musician Clive Cowan introduces his orchestral pastoral piece Evening Mist, followed by a Q&A explaining how it was recorded and produced using real instruments, synthesisers, samplers, MIDI and sequencers.

Friday 9 April

Live music written and performed on a Roland Groovebox D2.

10.15pm – DJ Mullah
An indie lover at heart who blends electro, dub and drum and bass into his sets. Previously supported Florence & The Machine and DJ’d at Club XFM and Student Traffic.

Saturday 10 April

Afternoon – 2pm
‘Obby ‘Oss rides again. Stabled in Slack Space, Queen Street, before roaming freely through the town centre. If his beady horsey eye catches yours – beware. Expect pagan mischief and jokes that likely pre-date Christianity.

Celtic fusion acoustic duo from Suffolk performing original material with a jazzy edge.

Clare Woodcock (violin and vocals) and Ian Heywood (vocals and guitar) blend folk and pop styles with a strong focus on original songs.

Matt Coy, aka GrumB, swaps drumsticks for a laptop and controller, delivering dark, electronic beats inspired by multiple genres and his own unique imagination.

Sunday 11 April
Doors 6.30pm

Arts Link Colchester hosts its first meeting at Slack Space. This inclusive, informal social networking group is open to anyone involved in or interested in the arts. The aim is to hold regular monthly meet-ups for people to connect, share knowledge and promote events and exhibitions.

Attendees are asked to bring a bottle and wear a provided name tag. Nibbles and entertainment will be supplied.
